Because it can take up to 2 to 3 months before minor changes to your website are picked up by the search engines.
It can take up to a year or longer before you really see the number of visitors increase. Plus, this is a perpetual motion; the more visitors, the higher your ranking... the higher your ranking, the more visitors, and so on...
ATTENTION: I MEAN GOOD SEO
For half the world is "busy with" or "thinking about" SEO.
That is not the issue. Half the world is playing soccer too. When we refer to optimization we refer to good, clever and carefully analyzed optimization.
A hotel that "just does some SEO" will be on the wrong path for a very long time, permanently running behind the facts.
Just "adding key words" will not help at all, if the key words are not carefully researched.
however, bear in mind that just focussing on internal links or page weight do not mean much, if the optimization is not carefully balanced with the branding, the target market or the customer friendliness.
It does not help you to rank Number One for a key word, if the visits of your website are not converted into reservations.
